World Environment Day
World Environmental Day is celebrating every year on June 5th and is led by the United Nations Environment Programme. On World Environment Day, Jan Sharnam NGO invites young minds to take part in a special event that combines creativity with environmental awareness. Through art and innovation, children will get the opportunity to express their thoughts on nature, sustainability, and eco-conscious living. On this Environment Day, let us come together to protect our planet. Plastics are harming our oceans, killing marine life and polluting our beautiful Earth. By using less plastic, recycling more, and spreading awareness, we can make a big difference. Let’s work together to build a cleaner, greener and safe future for all.
Objective
To raise awareness about environmental issues, promote sustainable practices, and engaged the community in collective action toward a greener planet.
We have designed two exciting challenges to engage students across different age groups
Poster Making Competition (Classes 1st – 5th)
Young children can create colourful posters that showcase their thoughts on topics like saving trees, clean air, wildlife, water conservation, or plastic pollution. This is a fun way for them to learn and spread awareness through drawing and imagination.
Recycled Art Challenge (Classes 6th – 10th)
Older students are encouraged to think creatively and make something amazing using waste materials—like bottles, cardboard, newspapers, or old clothes. This challenge aims to promote the idea of “Best out of Waste” and inspire innovative thinking in recycling.
